Volunteer Lawyers Program
Join the Volunteer Lawyers Program (VLP) as a practicing or retired attorney. VLP provides opportunities to offer pro bono representation, brief advocacy, legal advice, or education to clients in need.
Volunteer at CLS
Community members are welcome to help our legal advocates. Share your skills in court reporting, investigation, translation, office operations, property appraisal, and more.
Community Justice Worker
Authorized Community Justice Workers are dedicated nonlawyer volunteers, trained and supervised by CLS lawyers, who provide essential legal assistance in all areas of CLS practice. They empower clients by helping them understand their rights, complete legal documents, and prepare for administrative proceedings—all free of charge. To become a Justice Worker, applicants need a GED and must complete our comprehensive training program and assessments. Learn more about this opportunity here.
Intern/Extern
Interns and externs are law students supervised by CLS lawyers who help provide high-quality, critical assistance to individuals throughout Arizona. Our program offers students a tailored, meaningful experience that supports their academic and career goals, while giving them the chance to work in a vibrant, mission-driven nonprofit law firm. Experiences may include direct client assistance, legal writing, community outreach, and developing innovative projects to improve access to justice.
